Knowing What I Know Now

Forgive, even when it’s hard.

I could be the most caring and giving person but still be mistreated.
By people who feel threatened by my happiness or success.

It took me long enough to understand that actions speak louder than words.
What people say doesn’t always match with what they do.

Have you ever wondered if some people have changed?
Or have they always been this way?

Have you ever disliked something about some people?
Or how could some people ever think, say, or do that?

I could have known some people for a long time.
But some people are better at hiding their true colors.

Until it’s revealed suddenly.
That it seems too late.

Knowing what I know now.
People have different hearts towards me.

Some people bring me up.
To encourage me.

They push me forward to do the things I want to pursue.
And they comfort me.

And some people drag me down.
To discourage me.
