My Father’s Care

Lasting through every moment.

I want to start by giving thanks to my father!
Respectfully and humbly.

For the care that only he can show and teach.
Lasting through every moment.

I know my father’s life hasn’t been the same.
Because he has me and my siblings.

Maybe we were teaching him what life is really about.
More than he could ever learn on his own.

Even when we have different plans.
Or don’t have to follow the same path.

I know it hasn’t been easy for my father.
Because he knows he won’t always be here to protect us.

But he will always care.
Only he knows what’s worth it.

My father taught me what it meant to value others.
And what it took to build a healthy relationship.

He showed me that life is not just about ourselves.
And it’s never too late for anything with anyone.

It’s okay to change, even when we’re afraid of change.
And it’s okay to have patience, even when we’re struggling to wait.
